Grants and Fund Development

The Fund Development Office works under the supervision of the Tribal Administrator and is responsible for managing, monitoring and maintaining Reno-Sparks Indian Colony’s public and private grant schedule, which includes: prospecting for new funding opportunities, writing of all grants and related materials, coordinating with program directors and/or managers to align funding and program deliverables and with the Finance Department regarding financial accountability and reporting requirements.  

 

  • Reviews and analyzes Federal, State, and local funding initiatives and regulations for tribal administration, program directors and/or managers, and community; writes and coordinates grant/contract applications with appropriate tribal program staff, program directors and/or managers, and administrators to insure accurate documentation, compliance objectives and assurance of RSIC priorities.
  • Works with Tribal Administration, Program Directors and/or Managers, and community representatives, public and private, on a regular basis to facilitate adherence to comprehensive planning, program planning, budgetary planning, and identify strategy for submittal of grant applications.
  • Writes and prepares grant or contract funding proposal applications and renewal applications with authorizing Council resolution and assures proposal includes but is not limited to:  federal forms, coversheet, table of contents, assurances, budgets with justifications, obtaining authorized  signatures, appendix of supporting documents, operating work plans identifying tasks, responsible individual with timeliness and prepares required proposal copies as required.
  • Develops and maintains working relationship with funding agencies/sources to provide necessary clarification on grant or contract proposal requirements; manages or implements specific grant/contract programs.
  • Directly responsible for coordination and compilation of tribal demographic data, statistics, and resource information as it relates to and for grant awards, comprehensive planning, and program development.
  • Provides appropriate training relating to new and/or updated funding sources, procedures and on new or revised program development process and procedures to appropriate staff.
