In order to assist in meeting your healthcare needs, it is important that our patients are informed about the available services within our agency. We look forward to working with you in achieving your wellness goals so that you might "go in a good way."

The medical clinic provides direct outpatient care and nursing support to patients seeking ambulatory services for chronic, acute, and preventative health issues.
The clinic provides routine care to manage and/or provide interventions for diabetic and other chronic care conditions. Our diabetic clinic focuses on diabetic care issues, exams, labs, screenings, education, and medication management. Diabetic clinics are held every Tuesday.
Patients with diabetes and/or high blood pressure are at higher risk for eye damage. The clinic provides retinal eye scans to catch early detection of damage. It is important to have a JVN screening at least once a year.
The clinic provides podiatry services twice a month on Tuesdays in coordination with our diabetic clinic. General podiatry services such as basic nail care, and evaluations for painful feet, spurs, and bunions are available for all clients.
The clinic provides a surgeon once a month from the Phoenix Indian Medical Center. Evaluations for surgery are completed with a referral from your Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Center (RSTHC) primary provider. Minor procedures are scheduled and follow-up care is provided as necessary.
The clinic provides Women's Health and Wellness services, focusing on preventative exams such as pap smears, breast exams, birth control, and other female issues.
The clinic provides pediatric services, providing general pediatric care to patients from birth to 18 years old. The pediatric clinic also provides the Reach Out and Read program, introducing our young patients to the concepts of reading.
The clinic provides contracted providers for obstetrician and gynecological services. The OBGYN providers work with our prenatal patients, providing initial confirmation of pregnancy, ultrasounds, and follow-up prenatal care. In addition, our providers are able to provide appropriate annual examinations along with women's wellness consultations and treatments.
The clinic provides a contracted cardiologist to provide stress testing, EKG, and routine follow-up for specialty care services.
Dental care is offered by appointment and is also available on a walk-in basis for emergencies only. Routine dental care consists of general oral treatment and includes cleanings, fillings, extractions, crowns, partials, dentures, and limited root canal treatment. However, there is a fee for crowns, dentures, partials, etc., to cover lab work and other expenses.
Acupuncture has returned starting January 19, 2017, with Dr. Bruce Eichelberger. Acupuncture involves positioning very thin needles on various points of the body depending on the symptoms or pain of the patient. Accurate placement of the needles draws energy to the desired areas and allows for positive energy flow. Medical Acupuncture can be effective for treating both injuries and chronic conditions. It has been shown to decrease pain, stress, anxiety, and inflammation. Acupuncture is performed by a provider who is trained and licensed in conventional Western medicine.

The underlying premise of chiropractic is that spinal misalignment/subluxations cause nerve interference, and that it is far better for you/your body to be free from such interference. This is done by correcting these misalignments with a 'manual adjustment or manipulation' (these are delivered by hand and can be delivered to any joint in the body, not just the spine). At the very least, regular chiropractic care can help ensure that your spine is optimally aligned. But there are numerous studies that show that patients of chiropractic experience fewer sick days, less on job injuries, fewer instances of low, mid, upper back and neck pain, fewer and or less severe headaches (tension and migraine), knee pain, hip pain, foot pain, wrist, elbow, and shoulder pain.

Specialized treatment such as severe pediatric and oral surgery procedures will need to be completed by an outside specialist. Because of extremely limited funds for specialty services, only contract health service-eligible patients will be considered for approval through the Contact Health Program. Approval for such costs depends on the Medical Priorities of Care criteria and is at the discretion of the Referred and Purchased Care (PRC) Program.

The newest division of the Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Center (RSTHC), medical imaging will offer general in-house diagnostic services such as X-ray and computerized axial tomography services.
Audiology exams and services are provided once per quarter and are available on a referral from your Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Center (RSTHC) primary provider. Services fees may apply for hearing aids. Audiology is provided in the optometry division, please contact optometry for service dates, and/or fee information.
Optometry provides routine and emergency eye care, ocular health and diabetic eye exams, and pediatric care. Walk-ins are for medical eye emergencies only, not for routine care of glasses or contacts. We are pleased to offer glaucoma care inside the clinic, including diagnosis and management with state-of-the-art equipment.
The optometry division also includes a contact lens service and an optical dispensary with eyewear offered to the community at a reduced cost.
The opticians are available Monday through Friday, 8 am to noon, and 1 to 3 pm.

Optometry will no longer be accepting phone calls or written notes from parents/guardians to treat minors. Minors must be brought in by a parent/guardian or an adult listed on an active consent to treat minors form with HIM in order to be seen for a visit or access the optical.
The pharmacy provides original prescription and prescription refill services, a drug "Take-Back" program for environmentally safe disposal, patient counseling, and informal Medication Therapy Management for the local tribal community.

Laboratory services provide lab testing including urinalysis, urine pregnancy test, rapid strep, hemoglobin, HgbA1c, PT/INR, BNP, microalbumin, H-Pylori Breath Tester, and glucose testing.
For laboratory testing not available within the tribal clinic, the laboratory department coordinates outside referral laboratory tests ordered by Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Center (RSTHC) providers for patients seeking medical services for chronic, acute, and preventative health issues.

The community health division promotes health education and provides healthy interventions directed at individuals, families, and groups within our tribal community.
Services available through community health include caregiving, health education and counseling, case management, and patient advocacy.
In addition, medical transportation services for RSTHC appointments and/or referrals are available through the Medical Transports in the Reno-Sparks metro areas only.

Behavioral Health Services are available and include individual, family, couples, and group therapy. In addition, mental health services provide psychological and psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and consult with other clinic divisions to provide coordinated care.

Our professional staff includes adult psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, postdoctoral psychologists, substance use counselors, and marriage and family therapists. Special emphasis is placed on providing services in a culturally sensitive manner.

Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling offers a variety of options for adults and adolescents. Services include substance abuse evaluations, individual and group treatments, AA meetings, and DUI School (Levels I, II, II-X, and III).
Referrals are coordinated for eligible clients/patients who need residential inpatient and detoxification treatment. Program staff works closely with the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Tribal Court and local-regional federal, state, municipal, and justice courts. Program staff collaborates or refers to other RSIC programs and non-profit agencies, such as Nevada Urban Indians Inc., Indian Health Board of Nevada, and Intertribal Council of Nevada.

Injury Prevention is an IHS-grant-funded program geared to meet specific goals and objectives within the local Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Tribal Community.
The Elder Fall Prevention program has four major components:
- Vision referral incentives
- Medication reviews
- Home assessments and modifications
- Exercise incentive program
Our main goal is to prevent death and injury due to elder falls in and out of the home.
The Child Passenger Safety Program distributes car seats to IHS-eligible children whose caregiver completes a 30 to 60 minute educational component. Our main goal is to prevent injury and death of all ages due to motor vehicle crashes by increasing seat belts and car seat usage. Call to set up a car seat check.

Physical Therapy is available through a referral from your primary provider.
Physical therapy provides general therapy practices that promote mobility, functional ability, quality of life, and movement potential through examination, evaluation, diagnosis, and physical intervention.

Diabetes Prevention Program is a grant program of the Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI). The program focuses on diabetes prevention and management through education, nutrition, and physical activity.
Diabetes risk tests and education counsels are available on diabetes prevention, including basic and advanced education sessions about diabetes, complications, and other chronic disease such as kidney disease, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Education is provided to help empower our patients to achieve their healthcare goals and increase participation with their healthcare providers. Classes are offered as individual and group sessions and are interactive and informal.
The curriculum used is culturally sensitive to American Indians /Alaskan Natives and meets the American Diabetes Association standards for diabetes care.

Nutrition services are provided by a registered dietitian and include medical nutrition therapy, well-child nutrition counseling and Head Start assessments, pediatric and adult weight management, WIC referrals, and nutrition counseling for diverse conditions such as anemia, kidney disease, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia. Counseling/education is available by request or on referral from a medical provider to individuals of diverse ages, families, and community groups.
The dietitian also provides menu planning to the Senior Nutrition Program using traditional and fresh foods and plans and administers the Reno-Sparks Summer Foods Service Program for children on the Colony and in Hungry Valley.

With 50+ pieces of assorted exercise equipment including free weights, hammer strength, dozens of cardio and static machines, indoor artificial turf, and a rock climbing wall, there is something for individuals of all stages of physical ability including those just starting an exercise program, to a weight lifter or professional athlete. There are two certified personal trainers and an exercise assistant to assist with exercise requests or needs.
Supervised exercise sessions are readily available to those with any medical concerns by referral from a medical provider. Open gym sessions are available to those with no medical concerns; a physical activity readiness questionnaire must be completed prior to the first open gym session. Open gym is available any time the exercise facility is open.

3 Nations Wellness Center is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Nike and its Air Native line to bring Nike and N7 merchandise to our tribal community, as active lifestyles assist in preventing the onset of chronic health conditions.
We will be offering Nike footwear at discounted prices (except for the N7 line) to all RSTHC patients, all RSIC employees, and all RSIC enrolled members. Seasonal catalogs are available and include merchandise for men, women, and youth.
