RSIC Covid Assistance Program
Funded under the American Rescue Plan Act
The Reno Sparks Indian Colony supports the RSIC tribal community, families and members directly impacted by a diagnosis of Covid-19 or impacted through mandatory quarantine orders from a healthcare agency. As Covid-19 continues to pose a significant public health emergency, the RSIC Tribal Council authorizes additional financial assistance to members under the American Rescue Plan Act in the development of the Covid Assistance Program.
RSIC Covid Assistance Program authorizes payments to eligible individuals as follows:
- RSIC Adult Applicants:
Covid Assistance funding will be provided for an individual adult applicant who had not previously utilized Covid Relief Funding under the CARES Act as follows:- a. $1000 Covid assistance funding will be provided to support an adult applicant during their 1st Covid-19 diagnosis or mandatory medical quarantine order. Proof of Covid positive test or medical quarantine order and Release of Information form will be required.
- b. $500 payment to support an adult applicant during a 2nd diagnosis of Covid only. Proof of Covid positive test and Release of Information Form will be required.
- a. $1000 Covid assistance funding will be provided to support an adult applicant during their 1st Covid-19 diagnosis or mandatory medical quarantine order. Proof of Covid positive test or medical quarantine order and Release of Information form will be required.
- RSIC Minor Applicants:
Covid Assistance funding will be provided for individual enrolled RSIC minor applicants who have not utilized Covid Relief Funding under the CARES Act as follows:- a. $500 Covid assistance funding will be provided to support the minor during their 1st diagnosis of Covid-19 or during a mandatory medical quarantine order. Proof of Covid positive test or medical quarantine order and Release of Information Form will be required.
- b. $250 Covid assistance funding will be provided to support the minor during a 2nd diagnosis of Covid-19 only. Proof of Covid positive test and Release of Information Form will be required.
- a. $500 Covid assistance funding will be provided to support the minor during their 1st diagnosis of Covid-19 or during a mandatory medical quarantine order. Proof of Covid positive test or medical quarantine order and Release of Information Form will be required.
- Applicants who previously utilized one-time funding under the Covid Crisis Relief Program funded under the CARES Act (2020-2021), will be eligible for additional Covid Assistance under the ARP Act funding as follows:
- a. Adult applicants who previously received Covid Relief Funding and test positive a second time after December 31, 2021 will be eligible for Covid Assistance funding under the ARP Act in the amount of $500. Proof of a positive Covid-19 test and Release of Information Form will be required.
- b. Minor applicants who previously received Covid Relief Funding and test positive a second time after December 31, 2021 will be eligible for Covid Assistance funding under the APR Act in the amount of $250. Proof of Covid-19 test and Release of Information Form will be required.
- a. Adult applicants who previously received Covid Relief Funding and test positive a second time after December 31, 2021 will be eligible for Covid Assistance funding under the ARP Act in the amount of $500. Proof of a positive Covid-19 test and Release of Information Form will be required.
RSIC Covid Assistance Program (ARPA Funding) Eligibility Criteria:
- ✓ RSIC enrolled Tribal members living on or off the Reservation
- ✓ Must submit proof of positive Covid-19 test results or mandatory quarantine order from a healthcare agency and a Release of Information Form. Failure to submit required documents will result in denial of application.
- ✓ Must submit a completed Covid Assistance Program (ARPA) application with correct enrollment number, physical and mailing address and telephone number. Parents are able to apply for eligible children.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- All eligible RSIC members may apply.
- Covid Assistance Program (ARPA) Applications will be accepted through December 30, 2022.
- All necessary documents (positive Covid test or quarantine order) will be required as part of a completed application.
- Applicants are encouraged to utilize electronic means to submit documentation, identification, applications through electronic submission using email, text or by contacting the Covid Case Manager/Human Services at 775-329-5071 to arrange pickup of completed applications. This measure is intended to keep individuals safe, quarantined and deter the spread of the virus by social distancing.
- All checks will be processed as soon as possible and up to 48 hours for processing.
- Checks will be delivered by program staff or applicant can submit written authorization for a family member to pick up check.
- All applicants/parents will be required to sign the Covid Assistance Disclosure and Check Receipt Form acknowledging appropriate use of assistance funding specific to Covid-19 impact.
- Completed applications and proof of Covid positive test or medical quarantine orders may be emailed to jhicks@rsic.org, mailed or dropped in the Human Services box located at the following:
